American Idol said goodbye to two contestants during Sunday’s emotional Mother’s Day episode, narrowing the competition to just five finalists. The special Disney Night event featured moving performances that had judges and viewers reaching for tissues.

When votes were counted, the competition was exited by its youngest contestant, Mattie Pruitt, along with Gabby Samone from Baltimore. Advancement to the next round was secured by the remaining Top 5 contestants.
