Aaron Pico Signs with UFC: Former Bellator Star Joins Featherweight Division

Aaron Pico, long regarded as one of the most promising fighters in MMA, has finally joined the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The 28-year-old featherweight has signed an exclusive deal and is expected to make his debut soon, bringing years of experience and knockout power to the UFC octagon.

Pico has spent his entire professional career with Bellator MMA, where he gained attention for his dynamic striking and elite wrestling. Despite early setbacks, he matured quickly in the sport. With a professional record of 13 wins and 4 losses, Pico has turned heads by winning nine of his last ten fights, with nine of those victories coming by knockout.

His journey in MMA began even earlier than his pro debut, when Bellator signed him in 2014. At that time, he was only a teenager but already carried a strong reputation due to his amateur wrestling accolades and boxing pedigree. He debuted professionally in 2017 and immediately faced tough competition, often against opponents with far more cage time.

Though his initial Bellator record stood at 4-3, Pico’s evolution as a fighter has been impressive. He transformed from a raw prospect to a seasoned and dangerous contender, showing improved fight IQ, striking accuracy, and takedown defense. With Bellator ceasing operations earlier this year, many expected Pico to transition to the UFC — a prediction that has now become reality.

The signing comes after months of speculation, with UFC CEO Dana White previously expressing interest in bringing Pico on board. With the featherweight division already brimming with talent, Pico’s addition creates even more excitement for fight fans.

Currently in training camp, Pico is eager to step into the octagon as soon as possible. His debut opponent and fight date are yet to be announced, but expectations are high that he will face a top-15 contender in his first few appearances.

This move is significant for both the UFC and the broader MMA landscape. Pico was widely viewed as one of the best fighters outside of the UFC, and his arrival signals a continued trend of top-tier athletes seeking the biggest stage in the sport.

As he enters the UFC, Aaron Pico brings not just skill and power, but also a hunger to prove himself among the best. Fans can look forward to explosive matchups and highlight-reel moments from a fighter who has only scratched the surface of his potential.
