The wait is almost over for Star Trek fans as the highly anticipated third season of ‘Strange New Worlds’ is confirmed for a Summer 2025 release. While an exact date has yet to be announced, previous seasons premiered in May and June, making those months likely contenders for the next installment.
The new season will bring back the beloved crew of the USS Enterprise, including Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Ethan Peck as Spock, Rebecca Romijn as Una Chin-Riley (Number One), Jess Bush as Christine Chapel, Celia Rose Gooding as Nyota Uhura, Christina Chong as La’an Noonien-Singh, Melissa Navia as Erica Ortegas, Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. Joseph M’Benga, and Carol Kane as Pelia. Additionally, Martin Quinn will join the cast as Montgomery Scott, and recurring roles will feature Paul Wesley as James T. Kirk and Dan Jeannotte as Sam Kirk. The season will also welcome guest stars Patton Oswalt and Rhys Darby.
Unlike serialized Star Trek series such as ‘Discovery’ and ‘Deep Space Nine,’ ‘Strange New Worlds’ follows an episodic format, offering standalone stories within each episode. Season 3 is expected to maintain this approach while resolving the intense cliffhanger from the previous season. The new season will consist of 10 episodes, continuing the standard set by the first two seasons.
Fans got a first look at Season 3 during CinemaCon, where a teaser trailer was revealed. Additionally, two preview clips have surfaced—one showing crew members temporarily transformed into Vulcans and another picking up immediately after the explosive Season 2 finale.
The Star Trek universe continues to expand as ‘Strange New Worlds’ has already been renewed for a fourth season. Production is currently underway, ensuring even more thrilling adventures aboard the USS Enterprise in the years ahead.
